News: Possible hazing uncovered Risible forensic analysis of physical "hazing" evidence found in a park. Naples High School investigating duct-tape assault of four freshmen The key to the whole story is an omission -- the principal "didn't address whether any of the victims experienced psychological harm". Which happens to be what determines whether an incident like this is an "assault" or a plain old prank.
Note also the principal's comment that while these kinds of pranks or hazing have happened before, the victims said nothing to their parents or school officials about the incidents, apparently because they regarded it as part of a ritual. Or maybe because they regarded it as ... fun?
